My Son’s Acne Experience with Burt’s Bees

September 25th, 2010 by admin

So this past month my middle son has been experiencing bad acne. He is 15, with normally quite a good complexion. I noticed when I was away for one week, upon my return, he had broken out quite badly. It has only gotten worse, and I wondered if it had a lot to do with his diet while I was gone. He had fast frozen foods to heat up and of course those come with various forms of fat, processed meats, hard cheeses, white flour, all those things that are a coronary nightmare. They are also a liver nightmare. Read more

Smoothbeam Laser – Friend or Foe?

July 4th, 2010 by admin

In evaluating which acne laser treatments may be your choice of miracle workers on acne scars, you may not have heard of the Smoothbeam Laser. Before you start reading however, if you cannot imagine remaining out of direct sunlight for four to six weeks, then you may want to hold off on this acne treatment until autumn or winter is descending, as after care requires avoidance of the sunlight for a while. This device stimulates the under layer of tissue to minimize acne and acne scars on the outer layer. The laser has a self-regulating cooling system that protects the outer skin from damage while heating the upper dermis. Some clinics use the Zimmer cold air tool to blow cool air on the skin while administering the laser. Sebaceous glands shrink while collagen increases, when the dermis is laser stimulated. Read more

Ingredients to Avoid On Your Face

May 22nd, 2010 by admin

There are some ingredients added to the facial creams and makeup we use, that exacerbate the efforts we make to get rid of acne and blackheads. This is one of the reasons why it can pay to shop at a health food store where natural makeup and natural face treatments are stocked. It is also a good reason to consider products from the Dead Sea for an acne solution, as the natural ingredients and omission of the culprits can only be good for your skin. Before we got so sophisticated in our product manufacturing, we used natural ingredients, and so I wonder why the ones available today have to be so loaded down with extras – very likely to preserve and create a consistency to persuade the buyer it is a fantastic face treatment. Consider this – what if we’re focusing too much on topical treatments and not enough on the “what goes in must come out” aspect of blackheads. Removing the Black Dots

April 3rd, 2010 by admin

In the quest to get rid of blackheads, consider the Revlon Blackhead Remover which is comprised of a thin rod with two loops at the end, one larger than the other. The entire device is metal. Although it does not sound convincing, people swear by this device and find it much more effective than using their two fingers to squeeze the culprits. Read more

Camouflage Miracles

February 27th, 2010 by admin

When I was living in South Carolina, one of my dorm roommates showed me inadvertently the most marvelous transformation of skin that I have ever witnessed. Debbie from Pompano Beach had fair skin and long hair, and was always attracting the men like honey. What was even more amazing is that one day I discovered she did not have flawless skin, in fact she had the opposite. Read more
